EDWARD CUMING
Edward Cuming is the namesake label of the Australian-born, Madrid-based designer. A graduate of Central Saint Martin, Cuming launched the brand in 2019 with a proposition for atypical menswear that eschews tradition – of tailoring and thought alike – in favour of a practice grounded in observation and an exploration of the sensorial. Since then Cuming has expanded his collections to include a full womenswear and denim offering. Underpinning Cuming’s rigorous experimentation with fabrication, a languid silhouette and bold use of colour is a desire to render in physical form the ephemeral: Those fleeting moments or sensations that can first read as inconsequential, but when interrogated further reveal moments of quiet transcendence amid the banal.
ARO ARCHIVE
Aro Archive is an independent family-run archival company specialising in pre-owned Japanese, Belgian, French and British design. The archive consists of a 12,000-piece collection specialising in directional, wearable designer pieces from the 1880s to the present day, and operates as an appointment-led rental service for design houses, museums and educational institutions. In addition, the commercial arm is comprised of a new five-story store in prime Shoreditch, London - offering buying and selling to the local community, as well as an e-commerce platform with a separate, exclusive selection. The designer brands carried include Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake, Comme des Garcons, Helmut Lang, Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simons, Ann Demeulemeester and Jean Paul Gaultier.
